As we head into spring, we are hopeful that the tide is turning on this pandemic and that we will continue to see less illness and a return to community activities. In preparation, we have successfully implemented a wide- spread vaccination program that has provided opportunities for staff and participants to be vaccinated throughout our programs.
We organized vaccine clinics on-site at residential programs, at Marcus and at a Suffolk County vaccination site. Despite on-going vaccine hesitancy, we vaccinated nearly 600 staff and individuals with disabilities at our scheduled clinics. We continue to follow all guidelines and are committed to the health and safety of our community.
We are endlessly grateful to our committed staff who continue to care for our participants, keep our back offices working effectively, raise needed funds and ensure our facilities are in top-notch shape. We would not have weathered the challenges over the past year if not for each of them.
We look forward to the days when we can be together again. Until then, be well and stay safe.
